International Rivers is one of our 2025 nominations receiving monthly support from Oracle Girl. In 2024, it launched an animated community education series focused on the Congo River Basin. Aimed at empowering riverine communities affected by hydropower dams, the series provides accessible information on river ecology, dam impacts, community rights, and renewable energy alternatives, all in Lingala with English subtitles. By offering crucial knowledge, this initiative fosters direct impact on the communities it serves via informed, empowered participation in shaping the future of local environments and livelihoods.
