Advancing its mission to protect oceans, the Surfrider Foundation - which received a donation in the environmental & conservation category back in July 2023 - continues tackling plastic debris in Oregon's oyster farming industry. Partnering with local farmers and scientists, Surfrider is testing new biodegradable materials and organising cleanups to prevent polystyrene and plastic waste from polluting waterways. By working alongside communities and industry partners, the foundation is demonstrating how sustainable aquaculture practices can thrive while safeguarding marine ecosystems.
